Pasta casserole

Here's a tasty pasta casserole recipe that's easy to make:

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (about 2 cups) pasta (penne, rotini, or your choice)
  • 1 lb ground beef, turkey, or sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes (with juices)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Cook the pasta: In a large pot, boil salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. Brown the meat: In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened. Add the ground meat, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  4. Combine ingredients: Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
